Business Development Director - Environment & Infrastructure

Job Summary

We seek an experienced Business Development Manager to support growth strategies within our Environment and Infrastructure programs. This hybrid role is ideally based in Crystal City, VA, but remote options are available.

The candidate will identify new business opportunities in environment, energy, transportation, and infrastructure security for agencies such as DoD, DoE, NSF, NASA, USGS, NOAA, and others. Proven client engagement and pipeline development experience, along with technical expertise and federal agency relationships, are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Identify government opportunities to expand into new accounts across civilian and military sectors.
  • Manage a $3+B pipeline, developing account strategies, client engagement, and win strategies.
  • Create new government programs for R&D in environment, energy, and infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Lead pursuit, capture, and proposal efforts, ensuring alignment with client needs.
  • Participate in evolving growth strategies with market insights.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to align capabilities with client needs.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science; Master’s preferred, with 10+ years in federal business development or government contracting.
  • Proven success in securing large government contracts, with experience managing a $3B+ pipeline.
  • Strong network within federal agencies, especially in science and technology.
  • Excellent proposal development skills and experience with CRM tools.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50%+.
  • Must be a U.S. person per export laws.
