We offer specialty contracting services through our contracting companies and proprietary products and engineering support through our technologies company. With over 2,500 employees nationwide and internationally, we serve the Commercial, Public, Transportation, Industrial, and Power markets to address complex construction challenges. STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES is the in-house engineering business line of Structural Group.

We create unique construction solutions across commercial and public markets by integrating proprietary products and engineering services. Our partnerships across North America help develop solutions for building and infrastructure projects through structural strengthening.

We are seeking a Senior Director of Business Development for the Central Region who is passionate about business development, sales leadership, and has extensive experience working with contractors and engineers in the commercial/public markets. Knowledge of structural strengthening solutions and business leadership skills are highly valued. The role involves collaborating to develop and sell solutions that meet customer needs.

This position is highly collaborative, involving teamwork with business developers across the Central Region to deepen existing relationships and develop new opportunities. While ideally based in the Mid-West, we are open to candidates nationwide.

In this role, you will develop and implement plans to showcase our capabilities, develop projects, and grow our strengthening business.

Our solutions include FRP composites, section enlargement, post-tensioning repairs/strengthening, and shotcrete, supporting engineers with condition assessment, analysis, options development, and construction. You will help solve tough challenges for our clients in the repair, maintenance, and renewal sectors.

Minimum requirements include:

  • 15+ years of experience building client relationships and expanding a client base in the commercial/public market, preferably selling specialty construction services or products to general contractors.
  • Proven success in a business development or client services leadership role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience managing accounts in a CRM system, preferably Salesforce.
  • Successful sales leadership experience, meeting or exceeding sales goals using a CRM system.
  • Ability to lead sales on high-value projects with knowledge of commercial/public projects and technology-driven solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Duties include:

  • Implementing and tracking progress of business plans.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships within the markets across North America.
  • Following up on projects and leads from marketing.
  • Updating CRM databases and pursuing new contacts.
  • Expanding relationships and client base proactively.
  • Identifying opportunities and managing project pursuits to meet sales targets.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to develop and sell solutions.
  • Working with leadership on strategic expansion plans.
  • Participating in client meetings, trade shows, and business development activities.
  • Supporting sales presentations, proposals, bid packages, and site visits.
