**Job Description**

Join BAE Systems Intelligence & Security sector (I&S) as a Director of Business Development for the Air and Space Force Solutions (ASFS) business area. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Business Winning, you will partner with the business area team to drive the organization’s strategic growth objectives by developing and refining an understanding of customers' most important needs and laying the foundation for winning strategies. With responsibility for business development serving a dynamic and diverse market space and customer set, the selected individual will be held accountable for identification, qualification, and support of capture for Department of the Air Force business development opportunities as well as the generation of qualified pipeline growth necessary to meet or exceed the business unit’s forecast and plan. You will be responsible for developing a holistic and cohesive USAF business development strategy and pipeline. Additionally, you will plan and recommend BD and marketing strategies to achieve maximum customer and market penetration and to drive tactical and strategic growth. The position is located in McLean, Virginia but requires frequent travel to company and/or customer locations.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  1. Grow Air & Space Force domestic opportunity pipeline with focus on PEO C3BM by leveraging existing and adjacent markets/customers through diligent and timely identification/qualification of new business opportunities, utilizing current technologies, customer relationships, and inter-company collaboration.
  2. Develop and execute strategic and tactical plans for the pursuit and successful capture of key opportunities within PEO C3BM.
  3. Obtain marketing intelligence and competitive data related to potential pursuits and develop marketing strategies accordingly.
  4. Establish, build, and maintain customer relationships and assess competitor capabilities aligned to the Air and Space Force requirements.
  5. Support the creation and execution of multi-year business development strategies.
  6. Manage tech marketing discretionary funds planning and execution.

**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related discipline
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant BD experience
  • Proven success in leading and winning new domestic and international business
  • Ability to establish and leverage important customer relationships with senior officials and program stakeholders within US and international defense markets
  • Experience and customer relationships with PEO C3BM
  • Significant technical acumen in CJADC2 and ABMS architectures, software development, and infrastructure modernization
  • Experience in shaping opportunity captures, including developing overall win strategies, deal shaping, teaming strategies, and leading capture efforts
  • Background in solution selling and developing new markets, with leadership from inception to campaign fruition
  • Experience in directing and supporting new business development opportunities, including marketing and customer call plans
  • Ability to develop, document, and execute growth plans
  • Knowledge of government contracting, current acquisition trends, and customer buying behaviors
  • Knowledge of competitors and market behavior modeling
  • Experience managing budgets for technical marketing, B&P, and IRAD
  • Excellent written communication skills with experience presenting to senior executives and customers
  • Proven leadership of large, geographically diverse teams with coaching and mentoring skills

**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**

  • Experience with or knowledge of international business development, including Foreign Military Sales and Direct Commercial Sales, and related policies
  • Experience in radar development and support, and range instrumentation support
  • MBA or similar master's degree, including advanced military education
  • Preferred base location is McLean, Virginia

**Pay Information**

Full-Time Salary Range: $150,370 - $255,630

This range reflects market pay structures. Salaries are determined by factors including business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, skills, education, and experience.
