A leading company specializing in legal technology and information governance is seeking a Business Development Consultant to build and maintain strong client relationships in Texas. The role involves consultative selling, attending industry conferences, and collaborating with internal teams to meet client needs effectively. Candidates should possess robust networking skills and a strong understanding of legal services while being motivated by achieving sales targets.
Job Title: Business Development Consultant
Location: Texas (Preferably Dallas, open to Houston, Austin, San Antonio). Will come to corporate office in Dallas for training and company meetings.
Travel Requirements: Regular travel within Texas and beyond, including conferences and client meetings in major Texas cities.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and discussing potential solutions.
Conduct consultative selling, identifying opportunities, and driving the sales process from initiation to close.
Continue to nurture client relationships to drive additional opportunities and referrals
Regularly travel to client sites and conferences, representing the company and building a strong network.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth transitions and handoffs, maintaining high client satisfaction.
Stay updated on industry trends and developments, particularly in information governance, eDiscovery, forensics and legal software.
Schedule and attend educational CLEs on appropriate topics tailored to the client’s needs and interests.
Attend industry conferences to expand professional network and identify new targets
Compensation:

Qualifications:
Proven experience as a litigation paralegal, attorney, or a litigation sales representative with a desire to grow their career into a sophisticated and substantive business development role.
Expertise in legal services, including legal technology and electronic records management.
Highly relational with strong networking skills and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
Analytical mindset with attention to detail and the ability to discuss and perform initial quarterbacking on complex cases.
Ability to travel regularly within Texas and beyond.
Strong understanding of consultative selling techniques and long-term sales cycles.
Motivated by achieving sales targets and providing exceptional client service.
Preferred Qualifications:
Existing in-house legal and law firm customer base in Texas.
Knowledge of information governance, eDiscovery and forensic services.
Previous experience in a consultative sales role with a long sales cycle.
Demonstrated ability to excel in sales, with a rockstar mentality and the drive to excel in a team environment.
Passion for building long-standing and fruitful relationships.
JD or experience as a Paralegal in a law firm setting
