Job summary

The Zippertubing Company seeks a Business Development and Growth Specialist for ZT Labels in Tempe, AZ. This role blends business development, marketing strategy, and customer engagement to identify new customers and opportunities for growth in the printing and labeling space.

You will lead initiatives to generate leads, raise brand awareness, and drive revenue, while collaborating with Operations and Production to align capabilities with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field.
• 4+ years in Business Development, Sales, Marketing or related roles.
• Experience in label manufacturing, printing, or industrial products is highly valuable.

Responsibilities

• Identify new customers, industries, and opportunities for growth.
• Develop strategies to generate leads, raise brand awareness, and grow revenue.
• Suggest improvements for website, digital presence, and customer experience.
• Explore SEO, digital marketing, email campaigns, LinkedIn outreach, and direct marketing for lead generation.
• Build relationships with prospective and existing customers via phone, email, virtual meetings and in-person visits.
• Understand customer applications to identify opportunities for ZT Labels’ products.

What You'll Do

This hands-on role combines business development, customer engagement, marketing strategy, and commercial problem-solving.

You'll help us:

• Identify new customers, industries, applications, and opportunities for growth.
• Develop strategies to generate leads, increase brand awareness, and grow revenue.
• Bring ideas and recommendations for improving our website, digital presence, and customer experience.
• Explore opportunities in SEO, digital marketing, email campaigns, LinkedIn outreach, direct marketing, and lead generation.
• Build relationships with prospective and existing customers through phone, email, virtual meetings, and in-person visits.
• Ask questions to understand customer applications and identify opportunities where ZT Labels products can provide value.
• Research markets, customer segments, and new applications for our products.
• Work closely with Operations and Production to ensure growth opportunities align with our capabilities.
• Gather customer and market insights and share recommendations with leadership.

You won't be expected to personally design or code a website or create every marketing asset. We're looking for someone who can bring ideas, help define priorities, and work with internal and external resources to turn opportunities into action.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

• 4+ years of relevant experience in Business Development, Sales, Marketing, Account Management, Market Development, Commercial Growth, Product Marketing
• A solid understanding of the following:
  • Prepress Bleed Die Lines Trapping Pressure‑Sensitive Adhesives (PSA) Facestock Liners Flexographic (Flexo) Printing Digital Printing Web Registration Die Cutting Varnish Lamination Slitting
• Strong customer relationship and communication skills
• A demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and support business or revenue growth
• Strong problem-solving, research, and project management skills
• The ability to work independently and take initiative
• An entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working in a smaller business environment
• A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered.
• Experience in label manufacturing, label printing, converting, industrial products, wire and cable, medical products, identification products, or engineered products is highly valuable.

Compensation: DOE

Environment / Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job the employee will work in a multi-occupied open office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The position involves sitting, talking and, hearing throughout the 8-10-hour shift. Physical Demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a step ladder or climb stairs as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.
