The Business Development & Account Specialist is responsible for developing new business relationships while supporting and maintaining existing accounts within assigned territories. This position combines business development, account management, relationship building, and data analysis to support business growth and ensure strong account performance.

Work Arrangement: This position is onsite for candidates located in South Florida and remote for candidates located outside of South Florida.
Travel: Up to 20% travel, including occasional business meetings, client visits, trade shows, and industry events.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound calls and outreach to identify and develop new business relationships.
- Utilize provided lead lists and other resources to identify prospective business partners.
- Learn about prospective partners' capabilities, needs, and service offerings.
- Present company requirements and opportunities to prospective partners.
- Develop relationships with new business partners and guide them through the onboarding process.
- Follow up consistently with prospective accounts to move opportunities forward.
Account Management & Relationship Building
- Maintain regular communication with assigned accounts and business partners.
- Build strong, professional relationships with new and existing accounts.
- Conduct regular account reviews to assess performance, needs, and opportunities.
- Maintain accurate account information, including services, coverage, availability, and other account details.
- Address account concerns and work collaboratively to identify solutions.
- Discuss pricing and service expectations with business partners based on business needs and established guidelines.
- Support adherence to company requirements, agreements, and service standards.
Reporting & Analysis
- Review account and territory performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Analyze information such as volume, capacity, costs, response times, acceptance rates, and overall account performance.
- Identify gaps or discrepancies and take initiative to research and resolve them.
- Prepare and review daily and monthly reporting related to assigned accounts and territories.
- Use data and reporting to make recommendations and support business decisions.
Daily Responsibilities
- Respond to incoming account and partner communications within 24 business hours.
- Maintain a strong understanding of company policies, procedures, and account requirements.
- Make and manage a high volume of outbound calls.
- Manage incoming calls, emails, and other account communications.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of account activity.
- Follow up on open items and ensure commitments are completed.
- Attend occasional trade shows, industry events, and business meetings to develop new relationships and support existing accounts.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in account management, customer service, sales, recruiting, business development, inside sales, or another relationship-focused role preferred.
- Experience communicating with customers, clients, vendors, or business partners.
- Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls and initiating business conversations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent follow-up and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to review information, identify discrepancies, and take initiative to find solutions.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Ability to learn and apply company policies, procedures, and account requirements.
- College degree preferred, but not required with relevant experience.
