Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Business Data Analyst to identify BI needs, collaborate with business and technical teams, and transform data into actionable insights. The role involves designing dashboards, alerts, and reports, leading requirements gatherings, and educating clients on using data for decision making.

Applicants should bring strong SQL, data analysis, and Agile experience, with proficiency in Excel, Visio, and BI tools. Python and API/XML/JSON exposure are a plus.

Qualifications

• BA/BS Degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and progressive experience.
• 3+ years of Business Data Analyst experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and organizational skills.
• Strong critical thinking & problem-solving competency.
• Experience with Agile teams as a BA.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Proficiency in Word, MS Excel and Visio.
• Technical experience with BI Tools and Python is a plus.
• Exposure to APIs, understanding of XML and JSON language preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify business intelligence and data analysis needs.
• Work closely with Business and Technical teams.
• Turn data into critical information for business decisions.
• Engage business and development teams to design dashboards, alerts, and reports.
• Provide project leadership including facilitating requirements gathering.
• Conduct analysis of functional business processes.
• Educate clients to use data as an analytical tool.
