Job summary

Truist’s Corporate Real Estate and Workplace (CREW) team seeks a Business Data Analyst II to turn operational and financial data into actionable datasets and dashboards. This onsite role in Charlotte, NC focuses on data prep, visualization, and automation, with proofs of concept for Agentic AI and Microsoft Copilot.

Responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders, building reusable datasets, and developing Power BI reporting to monitor performance and guide decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2–5 years of related experience.
  • Experience using SQL to query, transform and validate data from enterprise platforms.
  • Focus on process automation to improve efficiency.
  • Experience developing BI reporting and data visualizations in Power BI.

Job description

The Business Data Analyst II role supports Truist’s Corporate Real Estate and Workplace (CREW) team by turning operational and financial information into dependable datasets, dashboards, and reporting that leaders can act on. This onsite position in Charlotte, NC focuses on data preparation, visualization, and automation, with time set aside to evaluate Agentic AI and Microsoft Copilot proofs of concept.

What you’ll do
  • Collaborate with CREW business and technology stakeholders to translate operational and financial questions into requirements for data, reporting, visualization, and automation.
  • Build, test, document, and maintain reusable datasets and analytical models using SQL and/or Python, drawing from Snowflake and other approved enterprise systems.
  • Create and support Power BI datasets, dashboards, and visualizations so leaders and business partners can monitor performance, recognize trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Assess data completeness, accuracy, and consistency; investigate anomalies; document business rules and lineage; and coordinate remediation with data owners, source-system teams, and platform administrators.
  • Apply knowledge of CREW processes and financial operations to interpret analytical results, not just produce reports.
  • Identify and support automation opportunities across financial operations, emphasizing controls, traceability, process efficiency, and sustainable support models.
  • Explore Agentic AI and Microsoft Copilot use cases by developing proofs of concept, evaluating feasibility and business value, and documenting requirements, limitations, risks, and recommended next steps.
  • Use Microsoft Power Apps and related Power Platform capabilities when appropriate to develop or enhance lightweight solutions that improve data capture, workflow execution, and user experience.
  • Lead small analytical or automation initiatives and contribute to larger cross-functional efforts, managing dependencies, risks, testing, stakeholder communication, and implementation activities.
  • Explain complex data, technical concepts, and analytical findings to varied audiences using concise narratives, visualizations, and recommendations.
  • Work independently with minimal guidance, exercising judgment across multiple information sources and serving as a resource to teammates and business partners.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of principles, practices, theories, and/or methodologies in a professional discipline (for example, information technology, project management, finance, risk management, or related areas).
  • Experience using SQL to query, join, transform, and validate data from enterprise platforms or cloud data warehouses.
  • Focus on process automation to improve efficiency.
  • Understands foundational concepts of other related professional disciplines.
  • Experience developing business intelligence reporting and data visualizations in Power BI or a comparable enterprise analytics platform.
  • Knowledge of the industry’s competitive landscape and factors that differentiate Truist and its competitors.
  • Ability to interpret and explain complex information to different audiences and build consensus among stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple assignments, and provide direction or knowledge-sharing to less experienced teammates.

Preferred qualifications
  • Knowledge of data quality, reconciliation, documentation, controls, and end-to-end data processes.
  • Experience supporting process improvement, reporting automation, or workflow automation initiatives.
  • Experience managing small to mid-size projects or workstreams with moderate complexity.
  • Experience using SQL and/or Python for data preparation, analysis, automation, or prototyping.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Power Apps and related Power Platform capabilities.
  • Financial acumen, including experience with financial analysis, operational analytics, forecasting, reconciliation, or management reporting.
  • Experience with Snowflake and development of governed, reusable datasets for reporting and analytics.
  • Experience exploring Agentic AI use cases or building proofs of concept in Microsoft Copilot or comparable enterprise AI platforms.
  • Experience supporting corporate real estate, workplace, facilities, capital projects, or related operational functions.
