Join Centric Consulting – A Culture You’ll Love
At Centric Consulting, we've cultivated a unique approach to business. Our business is built on three fundamental principles: Enjoy the people you work with, have fun, and do great work. These principles define our consulting model and have crafted one of the most vibrant cultures in the consulting industry – celebrating individuals, collaboration, and lifelong friendships.
In this role, you will:
Client Engagement & Solution Architecture
- Lead discovery and requirements workshops across finance, supply chain, manufacturing, project management, and service workstreams, and personally author the functional architecture deliverables: solution design documents, fit-gap analyses, process blueprints, and configuration workbooks precise enough that the team executes without re-asking design questions.
- Engage with Business Central directly on complex design questions: configure prototype solutions in a sandbox environment to validate feasibility, test edge cases personally before committing to a design direction, and build demonstration environments that prove the approach works rather than simply describing it.
- Design complex Business Central functional scenarios hands-on, including multi-company and intercompany configurations, advanced financial dimensions and reporting structures, complex costing methodologies (FIFO, average, standard), manufacturing routings and capacity planning, job and project accounting, and sophisticated approval hierarchy design.
- Configure Microsoft Copilot capabilities within Business Central, such as AI-assisted bank reconciliation, late payment prediction, predictive inventory replenishment, and Copilot for Finance, and design adoption plans that help clients realize tangible value from AI features rather than simply enabling them.
- Lead client-facing design walkthroughs with full command of the platform, including specific configuration options, known limitations, ISV extension tradeoffs, and the Microsoft best-practice rationale behind each design decision, so that clients leave every session with greater confidence rather than greater uncertainty.
- Review functional design documents, configuration workbooks, and test scripts from the team with substantive, specific feedback, identifying design gaps, scope misalignments, and deviations from best practice before they reach the client.
Technical Architecture and Development Leadership
- Design the technical architecture for Business Central engagements, including AL extension strategy, API and integration design, environment topology, DevOps pipeline configuration, and data migration approach, and personally build the proof-of-concept implementations that validate your design choices.
- Write or directly review AL extensions at a code level, including table and page extensions, codeunits, report layouts, APIs, and event subscriber patterns, with sufficient depth to make architectural decisions, identify performance risks, and provide developers with specific, actionable feedback.
- Architect and validate end-to-end integrations between Business Central and external systems. This includes designing the data contracts, selecting the appropriate integration pattern (Business Central APIs, Power Automate connectors, Azure Logic Apps, Service Bus, or direct OData), building a working proof of concept, and documenting it so the team can implement without ambiguity.
- Configure and maintain Business Central SaaS environments, Azure DevOps pipelines for AL development, and deployment processes, taking hands-on ownership of environment health and release quality on your engagements.
- Lead technical root-cause analysis when issues arise, including performance issues, integration failures, data corruption, and extension conflicts, by engaging with the environment directly to diagnose and resolve, rather than solely directing others.
AI Integration and Platform Currency
- Stay personally current on Microsoft’s Business Central and Copilot roadmap. This requires more than awareness of announcements; it requires actively working with preview features, testing new Copilot capabilities in sandbox environments, and forming informed opinions about what is ready for client deployments and what is not.
- Lead the AI conversation in every client engagement. Help clients understand the Copilot capabilities available in their Business Central environment, the prerequisites for enablement (licensing, data quality, dependencies), the configuration approach, and how to build a realistic adoption roadmap that delivers measurable value.
- Develop and present AI positioning in pre-sales activities. Build demonstration environments that showcase Business Central’s AI capabilities in action, tailored to the prospect’s industry and use case, providing demonstrations of specific business value rather than generic product tours.
- Build internal AI capability by documenting insights gained from hands-on AI work in Business Central, sharing working implementations with the practice, and helping Functional Consultants and Developers build their own confidence with Copilot features.
Practice Development
- Support Business Central pre-sales pursuits by conducting discovery conversations, developing solution proposals, building and presenting live platform demonstrations, contributing to SOW development, and helping close strategic opportunities.
- Build and maintain Centric’s Business Central practice intellectual property, including configuration templates, AL extension libraries, integration patterns, test script frameworks, and data migration toolkits that increase efficiency on every engagement.
- Contribute to Centric’s external profile in the Business Central community through published content, speaking engagements at Microsoft events or user groups, and active involvement in the Microsoft partner ecosystem.
- Support recruiting and onboarding for Business Central roles by helping assess technical and functional depth in candidates and helping new team members accelerate to contribution.
Who You Are:
- 8+ years of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (or NAV) implementation experience, with at least three years in a lead architect or senior consultant role.
- Deep functional expertise across core Business Central solution areas, including Financial Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Project Management, or Service Management.
- Direct, hands‑on Business Central configuration experience that extends beyond design oversight to personally building and validating solutions in the environment.
- Working knowledge of AL development, including the ability to read, review, and make informed architectural decisions on AL extensions, APIs, and event subscriber patterns.
- Experience designing and implementing Business Central integrations with external systems using BC APIs, Power Automate, or Azure integration services.
- Demonstrated experience leading client‑facing discovery, design, and delivery in a consulting environment, including executive‑level stakeholder management.
- Experience with Business Central SaaS environments, Azure DevOps for AL development, and AppSource ISV extension evaluation and implementation.
- Active Microsoft certifications in Business Central (MB-800 or equivalent) and a commitment to continuous certification development.
