We are a global industrial technology company growing through acquisition. We provide instrumentation, safety equipment, automation, and software to customers in regulated, high-stakes markets, including energy, chemicals, water, and aviation. Our teams across manufacturing, operations, and finance share an integrated set of business systems, and this role sits at the center of how those systems support the business.
About the Role
The ERP Business Analyst owns the health and continued development of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, which we recently launched and is still early in adopting. You bring hands‑on implementation experience and deep business analyst skill to stabilize and maintain the system, extend it for discrete manufacturing as the business matures on it, support the people who use it every day, and manage the projects that change it, delivering on time and on scope. Business Central sits at the center of an integrated lead‑to‑cash landscape that includes Zoho CRM and Octagon CPQ, and as the company grows through acquisition you will lead each acquired company onto that standard stack. The outcome the business needs is simple: a Business Central environment that people trust and use well, and enhancements and migrations that land cleanly and on schedule.
Responsibilities
Business Central Stabilization and Enhancement
- Own the stability and maintenance of our live Business Central environment, including configuration, setup data, updates, and release readiness for Microsoft's update cycle.
- Close the gaps left from the initial go‑live, prioritizing open issues, workarounds, and deferred functionality with Business Process Owners.
- Lead the design, configuration, and rollout of the next phases of Business Central functionality across manufacturing, warehousing, inventory, finance, sales, and purchasing.
- Map business use cases to system design, choosing between standard configuration, extensions, and customization with the development team and partners.
- Lead the implementation of acquired companies onto Business Central, Zoho CRM, and Octagon CPQ using our migration playbooks, and update the playbooks after each one.
Business Analysis and Requirements
- Partner with Business Process Owners (BPOs) to elicit and document true business needs, asking the systems questions that surface what is really required.
- Translate requirements into clear specifications for the development team and follow them through build so the original intent survives.
- Analyze acquired businesses' processes and data, map legacy systems to the target platforms, and close gaps through configuration or customization.
- Identify automation and process improvement opportunities that reduce manual work across the business.
User Support and Training
- Act as the first point of contact for Business Central issues, resolving what you can and escalating the rest with a clear diagnosis.
- Trace customer, quote, order, item, and pricing issues across Zoho CRM, Octagon CPQ, and Business Central to root cause, and fix recurring problems at the source.
- Deliver structured training on each Business Central module for new functionality, new hires, and acquired teams.
- Handle core system administration, including users, permissions, workflows, and configuration changes.
Project Management
- Plan and run Business Central projects end to end, including scope, timeline, resources, risks, and status reporting.
- Run coordination meetings with internal teams, the development team, and external partners, and hold everyone accountable to governance and delivery dates.
- Manage scope and change requests so priorities stay clear and commitments stay realistic.
- Define KPIs for ERP activity and report progress to management clearly and regularly.
Testing, Data, and Integrations
- Build test plans, finalize test cases with BPOs, and coordinate User Acceptance Testing through documented sign‑off.
- Define data requirements and follow up closely so data arrives complete, accurate, and on time.
- Define requirements for new or changed API-based integrations and validate field mappings, sync behavior, and error handling before go‑live.
- Keep requirements, configurations, integration documentation, test results, and training materials current.
How We Measure Success
In your first year, success looks like this:
- System stability and adoption: Post-go-live issues and workarounds are closed out, Business Central updates are applied without disruption, and teams rely on the system rather than spreadsheets.
- Enhancement delivery: Next‑phase Business Central functionality goes live on scope and on schedule, with structured UAT sign‑off and no major issues after release.
- User support: Issues are resolved quickly, repeat tickets trend down quarter over quarter, and users rate the system and support as dependable.
- Project management: Projects run to an agreed plan with clear status reporting; risks and scope changes surface early, not at the deadline.
- Acquisition migrations: Each acquired company lands on the standard stack on the agreed schedule, and the playbook is updated with lessons learned within 30 days of cutover.
- Stakeholder relationships: BPOs, the development team, and external partners see you as the trusted owner who keeps projects on track and commitments clear.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years as a Dynamics 365 Business Central Business Analyst in discrete manufacturing, at an end‑user company, an implementation partner or VAR, or both.
- Hands‑on Business Central implementation experience, including configuration, deployment, and go‑live, as an implementer and not solely as an end user, and experience maintaining and optimizing a live environment after go‑live.
- Strong working knowledge of Business Central across manufacturing, warehousing, inventory, finance, sales, and purchasing.
- Proven ability to elicit requirements, turn them into clear specifications for developers, and run test plans and UAT through sign‑off.
- Direct experience supporting and training Business Central users, from troubleshooting day‑to‑day issues to resolving root causes.
- Project management experience leading ERP projects to scope, schedule, and quality, including working with external implementation partners.
- Clear communication with both non‑technical users and technical development teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience migrating legacy ERP, CRM, or CPQ systems onto new platforms, including data mapping, cutover planning, and post‑acquisition process integration, ideally in a multi‑site or multi‑entity environment.
- Experience with Zoho CRM, Octagon CPQ, or comparable platforms and how they integrate with an ERP across the lead‑to‑cash cycle.
- Working knowledge of API‑based integrations (REST/OData, Business Central APIs, webhooks, middleware or iPaaS) and patterns such as sync direction, master data ownership, and error handling.
- Familiarity with the Business Central data model and manufacturing functionality (production BOMs, routings, capacity, costing), and comfort working with data using SQL or configuration packages.
- A project management certification (such as PMP), exposure to Power BI or Power Platform, or a bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
How You Work
- You own problems end to end, tracing them across systems until they are fixed at the source.
- You build trust with users on the shop floor and in finance as easily as with developers and vendors.
- You bring structure and accountability to projects without slowing them down.
- You are curious about how AI can take repetitive analysis and documentation off your plate, and you use it well.
