We are partnered with a leading organisation that utilises Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as a core business system and is looking to appoint an experienced Business Central Administrator to support, optimise, and enhance their ERP environment.
This opportunity would suit a Business Central professional with strong system administration, business analysis, and stakeholder engagement experience who enjoys working closely with users across multiple departments to improve processes, maximise system performance, and drive business efficiencies through technology.
You will play a key role in the ongoing management, support, and development of the Business Central platform, acting as the bridge between business users and technical teams. Working across finance, operations, supply chain, customer service, and senior leadership teams, you will be responsible for identifying improvement opportunities, analysing business requirements, and ensuring Business Central continues to meet the evolving needs of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Manage day-to-day system administration, user setup, permissions, security roles, and system governance.
- Work closely with stakeholders across the business to gather, analyse, and document requirements for system improvements and new functionality.
- Review existing business processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency through better utilisation of Business Central.
- Configure, maintain, and optimise Business Central modules to support business operations.
- Act as the liaison between users, third-party vendors, Microsoft Partners, and technical teams.
- Analyse and troubleshoot system issues, providing practical solutions and recommendations.
- Support system upgrades, releases, testing activities, and change management initiatives.
- Create and maintain functional specifications, process maps, user guides, and system documentation.
- Coordinate and support data cleansing, data migration, validation, and master data management activities.
- Design and execute user acceptance testing (UAT) and system testing plans.
- Develop and deliver user training, system workshops, and onboarding sessions.
- Produce reports, dashboards, and business insights using Business Central data and related reporting tools.
- Support integrations between Business Central and other business applications.
- Monitor system usage and identify opportunities to improve adoption, compliance, and overall effectiveness.
- Work with department managers to prioritise enhancement requests and manage ongoing improvement initiatives.
- Ensure system processes align with business objectives, operational requirements, and best practice.
- Support business-critical projects involving ERP development, automation, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Provide ongoing support to users and act as an escalation point for complex Business Central queries.
Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience supporting, administering, or analysing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and/or Dynamics NAV.
- Proven experience working as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, ERP Analyst, Business Central Administrator, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of Business Central functionality across Finance, Purchasing, Sales, Inventory, Warehousing, and Supply Chain.
- Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into practical ERP solutions.
- Knowledge of Business Central security, permissions, workflows, approvals, and configuration.
- Experience supporting system enhancements, upgrades, and change management initiatives.
- Strong understanding of ERP data structures, master data management, and reporting requirements.
- Experience facilitating workshops and engaging with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
- Proven ability to analyse, document, and improve end-to-end business processes.
- Experience with data migration, testing, UAT, training, and user adoption activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve complex business system issues.
- Experience working with Power BI, Excel, Power Platform, Jet Reports, or related reporting tools would be advantageous.
- Understanding of integrations between Business Central and third-party applications would be beneficial.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact confidently with both technical and non-technical users.
- Strong documentation, organisational, and presentation skills.
- Experience working with Microsoft Partners, ERP consultancies, or internal Business Central environments would be highly desirable.
- A proactive, customer-focused approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver continuous system improvements.
