Job summary

Simpson Judge is seeking an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer to own BC development, integrations, and transformations within a global financial services organisation. You will design, develop, and maintain BC customisations and extensions using AL and VS Code, and collaborate with functional teams to translate requirements into robust solutions.

This role offers genuine ownership, autonomy to apply best practices, and opportunities to influence how BC is developed

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Dynamics NAV/BC development experience.
• Strong AL and C/AL development skills.
• Experience with VS Code and Git.
• Understanding BC architecture and Extensions v2.
• Experience with event-driven programming.
• Experience with APIs and web services.
• Knowledge of Finance, Warehousing and Inventory processes.
• Nice to have: Power Platform, Power Automate, Azure DevOps.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

What you'll be doing

• Design, develop and maintain Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central customisations and extensions using AL and Visual Studio Code
• Work closely with functional consultants and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions
• Develop integrations between Business Central and third party/internal systems using APIs, web services and other integration technologies
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across development, test and production environments
• Support Business Central upgrades, data migrations and new functionality deployments
• Help establish and maintain best practices around source control, testing and DevOps
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement and evolution of the Business Central platform
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to more junior developers when required

We're looking for

• 5+ years' experience developing with Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Business Central
• Strong AL and C/AL development experience
• Strong knowledge of Visual Studio Code and Git
• Solid understanding of Business Central architecture and Extensions v2
• Good experience with event driven programming
• Experience developing integrations using APIs and web services
• An understanding of business processes across areas such as Finance, Warehousing and Inventory
• Experience with Power Platform, Power Automate and/or Azure DevOps would be advantageous
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• The confidence to work independently while collaborating with functional and technical colleagues
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
