Job description

About the Company & Role

Our client is a leading global consultancy renowned for delivering high-profile, complex, iconic, large-scale capital projects.

We're looking for a dynamic and motivated Business and Architecture Analyst to join our growing team. In a full-time, permanent role, you will initially be working on the Hudson Tunnel Project. If you're excited to build real‑world experience in a modern, cloud‑first environment, this role gives you the foundation to grow fast.

As the Business and Architecture Analyst, you will provide technology portfolio management, business analysis, enterprise architecture analysis, technology governance, and data governance. The role maintains a reliable view of the application portfolio, documents business processes and integrations, coordinates technology intake and requirements activities, and produces decision‑ready reporting for the Director and leadership.

The busiest rail connection between New York, New Jersey, and the Northeast Corridor, the Hudson Tunnel Project will improve capacity, reliability, and resiliency of commuter and intercity rail transit serving 800,000 daily passengers from Washington, D.C. to New York and New England. This is a milestone project that is slated to receive nearly $12 billion in federal funding, the largest investment in a mass transit project in US history.

Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain the application register, including owner, purpose, users, cost, contract term, renewal date, data classification, integrations, support model, and single sign‑on (SSO) status.
  • Reconcile the application register with procurement, finance records in Sage Intacct, and asset records in NinjaOne.
  • Document current‑state business processes, data flows, and integration maps.
  • Run the technology intake process for new software and change requests, including screening for duplicate tools, collecting business cases, routing requests for technical review, and tracking requests through IT Steering Committee decisions.
  • Lead requirements workshops and prepare requirements, user stories, business cases, and options analyses.
  • Perform current‑state versus target‑state gap analyses and maintain the business capability map.
  • Maintain the AI use‑case inventory for the AI Governance Working Group.
  • Track license renewals at least 90 days in advance and flag upcoming renewals to system owners.
  • Support data governance by recording the data owner and data classification for each system.
  • Produce technology portfolio reports and dashboards for the Director and leadership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or enterprise architecture analysis.
  • Two or more years of experience maintaining an application portfolio, configuration management database (CMDB), or technology inventory.
  • Experience creating process maps using Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) and developing data‑flow diagrams with Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, or draw.io.
  • Experience gathering and documenting requirements, facilitating workshops, writing user stories, and developing business cases.
  • Working understanding of software as a service (SaaS), integrations, application programming interfaces (APIs), and data classification.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and Power BI skills, with demonstrated comfort working with structured data.
  • Clear written communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CBAP or CCBA certification.
  • TOGAF Foundation certification.
  • Experience with capital‑program systems such as Kahua or Primavera P6, or with other asset management systems.
  • Understanding of the Microsoft Azure platform, Azure DevOps, Jira, or other configuration management systems.

The estimated starting salary for this position is $140k. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non‑discriminatory factors such as experience, skills and qualifications.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Business and Architecture Analyst looking to work on the most challenging, high‑profile and innovative projects.
