UnityPoint Health – Meriter in the Madison region is seeking a Business Analytics Senior Analyst to turn complex healthcare data into actionable insights that shape strategy and improve operations.

You’ll lead analysis on complex projects, coach fellow analysts, and work with teams across finance, operations, marketing, IT, and external partners. This remote role emphasizes data visualization, stakeholder education, and driving value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in business, healthcare admin, finance or IT.
• 5–7 years in a similar analytics role with complex projects.
• Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and present insights clearly.
• Experience with data extraction, integration, modeling, and large data warehousing.
• Knowledge of operations units and market trends to support analytics.

We are looking for a Business Analytics Senior Analyst to join our Business Analysis and Data Analytics team in the Madison region. In this role, you’ll turn complex healthcare data into insights that shape strategy, improve operations, and support better decisions at every level of the organization.

You’ll work with a high degree of independence, lead analysis on complex projects, and coach fellow analysts. You’ll have the creativity and latitude to shape how problems get solved.

This will be a fully remote position.

What You’ll Do

Data Analytics (45% of your time)

• Find and study internal and external data sources, including Epic (Chronicles, Clarity, Caboodle), Lawson, StrataJazz, EPSi, Premier, WHA, Intellimed, Advisory Board, and Census data
• Research, extract, integrate, model, and validate data
• Analyze data to deliver timely, meaningful insights
• Build visualizations, reports, and dashboards that tell a clear story for the audience
• Partner with finance, operations, marketing, public health, IT, and corporate data analytics teams, as well as vendors and JOA partners

Business Analysis (45%)

• Plan and monitor business analysis activities, including stakeholder engagement and governance
• Elicit, document, and manage requirements through their full life cycle
• Analyze current and future state, assess risks, and recommend solutions
• Evaluate solution performance and recommend ways to increase value
• Build on related work across JOA and UnityPoint Health

Learning and Teaching (10%)

• Grow your technical and business analysis skills
• Educate stakeholders and coworkers, and represent the team across the organization
• Participate in UPH System Services and IT user groups, including Cogito training

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in business or healthcare administration, finance, information technology, computer science or related discipline
• 5-7 year professional experience in comparable analyst role with progressively more complex assignments
• Proven ability to interpret data, identify trends and present information in a clear, concise and useful format to answer specific business problems
• Significant experience in data extraction, integration, modeling, and warehousing large and/or complex data sets
• Demonstrated ability to develop a working knowledge of operations units, organizational structures, strategy, legal and market trends in order to facilitate and enhance data analytics and business analysis efforts
