Job summary

The Vermont Department of Corrections is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the modernization, integration, testing, and long-term sustainability of enterprise correctional systems. This role serves as the designated testing lead for operational systems supporting facilities, probation and parole, and cross-agency data exchange.

Experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and functional requirements.
Experience serving as a testing lead for enterprise systems and coordinating user acceptance testing.
Working knowledge of SQL databases and data analytics principles.
Understanding data governance and reporting validation processes.
Strong written communication and ability to explain complex concepts.
Collaborates effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

Lead requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders and translate needs into functional specs.
Serve as testing lead for operational systems, develop test plans and validation scenarios.
Document defects, prioritize resolution, and ensure changes are tested before production.
Support data integration, reporting, and analytics initiatives across systems.
