Job summary

Bounteous is seeking a Business Analyst / Tableau & Data Visualization resource to support reporting, dashboards, data analysis, testing, and documentation for a reporting and automation initiative.

The role involves requirements gathering across multiple business areas, data analysis, and developing Tableau dashboards and other visualization assets to support operational and executive reporting. Collaboration with project teams and stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in data reporting, business intelligence, and dashboard development.
• Tableau experience including dashboard development, data source configuration, and validation.
• Experience with Power BI, Looker, Qlik, Domo, ThoughtSpot, MicroStrategy or Excel-based reporting.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with ability to map data flows to reporting needs.
• Experience with SQL and enterprise data environments.
• Ability to gather requirements, ask the right questions, and translate business needs into dashboards.
• Detail-oriented with data validation and testing support.
• Comfortable across discovery, design, development, testing, and deployment phases.
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Support requirements gathering across multiple business processes, documenting needs and stakeholder requirements.
• Analyze source data, identify gaps, and map fields to reporting outputs.
• Develop and support Tableau dashboards, data sources, and related visuals.
• Create operational, management, and executive reporting views using Tableau and other tools.
• Translate business requirements into clear dashboard layouts, metrics, filters, and logic.
• Assist with testing, validation, defect tracking, and UAT feedback.
• Produce documentation including data mapping, runbooks, and transition materials.
• Identify opportunities to automate reporting, e.g., scheduled refreshes and alerts.
• Coordinate with project leads and technical teams to deliverables.

We are looking for a Business Analyst / Tableau & Data Visualization resource to support reporting, dashboard development, requirements gathering, data analysis, testing, and documentation for a reporting and automation initiative.

Key Responsibilities

• Support requirements gathering across multiple business process areas, including documenting reporting needs, data inputs, definitions, and stakeholder requirements
• Analyze source data, identify data gaps, and support mapping of data fields to reporting outputs
• Develop, update, and support Tableau dashboards, reports, data sources, and related visualization assets
• Use Tableau and other visualization / reporting tools to create operational, management, and executive reporting views
• Support reporting design by translating business requirements into clear dashboard layouts, metrics, filters, and reporting logic
• Assist with testing, validation, defect tracking, and user feedback during dashboard development and UAT
• Support documentation, including requirements documents, data mapping, reporting specifications, runbooks, and transition materials
• Identify opportunities to improve or automate reporting processes, such as scheduled refreshes, distribution, alerting, and data validation checks
• Coordinate with project leads, technical teams, and stakeholders and support development of project deliverables

Required Experience and Skills

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in data reporting, business intelligence, and dashboard development
• Hands-on Tableau experience, including dashboard development, workbook updates, data source configuration, and report validation
• Experience with at least one additional visualization, reporting, or front-end tool such as Power BI, Looker, Qlik, Domo, ThoughtSpot, MicroStrategy, Excel-based reporting, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to understand business processes, data flows, and reporting needs
• Experience working with SQL and enterprise data environments
• Ability to gather requirements, ask the right questions, and translate business needs into reporting or dashboard requirements
• Strong attention to detail and ability to validate data, identify inconsistencies, and support testing activities
• Comfortable working across discovery, design, development support, testing, and deployment phases
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with both business and technical stakeholders

Preferred Experience

• Experience with SAP HANA or similar enterprise data platforms
• Experience supporting operational, management, or executive reporting
• Experience with reporting process automation, including scheduled refreshes, automated distribution, alerting, or data validation
• Experience creating clear documentation for dashboards, data definitions, reporting logic, and transition / knowledge transfer

• Promote and enforce awareness of key information security practices, including acceptable use of information assets, malware protection, and password security protocols
• Identify, assess, and report security risks, focusing on how these risks impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets
• Understand and evaluate how data is stored, processed, or transmitted, ensuring compliance with data privacy and protection standards (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
• Ensure data protection measures are integrated throughout the information lifecycle to safeguard sensitive information
