The IT Business Analyst is responsible for overseeing the business analysis function within the IT department, ensuring that business needs are accurately captured, analysed, and translated into technical solutions. This role requires an understanding of both business processes and IT systems, enabling the analyst to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and the IT team. The IT Business Analyst will manage requirements gathering, and work closely with project managers, developers, and business units to deliver high-quality projects that align with business objectives. Your expertise will contribute to the success of our company’s technology initiatives and help drive innovation.
How will you make a difference?
- Business Analysis and Requirements Management:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritize business requirements.
- Conduct detailed analysis of business processes, systems, and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications for IT development.
- Ensure requirements are clearly understood and adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the IT team.
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, and discussions to align IT solutions with business needs.
- Manage expectations and ensure clear communication of project goals, scope, and timelines.
- Project Oversight and Delivery:
- Work closely with project managers and customers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Monitor project progress and resolve any issues that arise related to business requirements or process alignment.
- Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and stakeholder expectations.
- Strategic Planning and Process Improvement:
- Contribute to the development of IT strategy and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Identify and implement best practices and process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the business analysis function.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, process flows, and user stories.
- Provide regular reports on project status, business analysis activities, and team performance to senior management.
Your skills and experience
Who we are looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMP) is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in business analysis within an IT environment.
- Proficiency in business analysis tools and techniques, such as UML, BPMN, and requirements management software. Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide innovative solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in enterprise-wide project/solution deployment and project management role for multinational companies would be an advantage.
