Job Description: Business Analyst – Patient Data Experience

Position Overview
The Business Analyst – Patient Data Experience serves as a lead conduit between client business stakeholders and Capgemini solution teams. Operating in specialty pharma and life sciences environments, this role is responsible for eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and communicating business, system, and data requirements.
The ideal candidate operates independently with high authority and judgment, identifying complex pharmaceutical business rules and accurately mapping them to technical data specifications to support regulated pharma operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirement Elicitation & Analysis: Elicit business, system, and data requirements from business users and subject matter experts (SMEs) across pharmaceutical and life sciences organizations.
- Process & Specification Design: Write detailed functional and system specifications, end-to-end business process models, business rules, and interface agreements for regulated healthcare environments.
- Data Mapping & Validation: Map complex functional requirements to granular data specifications; partner with QA teams to validate test cases, scenarios, and data accuracy across test cycles.
- Standards & Frameworks: Lead the development of standardized tools, templates, and frameworks for documenting requirements, business rules, and data specs.
- Gap & Interface Analysis: Perform gap analysis between current-state and future-state data models, systems, and interfaces; define file exchange standards with third-party vendors.
- Client Engagement & Rollout: Manage client relationships during discovery and solution delivery; support operational rollout, user adoption, and post-implementation transitions.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: 5–7+ years of extensive experience in business analysis and systems analysis.
- Domain Mastery: Mandatory experience in Pharma / Life Sciences (specifically specialty pharma, healthcare data, or regulated life sciences environments).
- Data Specification: Demonstrated experience drafting specifications for data rules, data formats, key performance indicators (KPIs), and multi-vendor data exchanges.
- Regulatory & Validation: Strong understanding of compliance, validation, and documentation standards in regulated pharma organizations.
- Certifications: IIBA certification (CBAP, CCBA) or equivalent recognized professional BA certification required.
Technical & Platform Skills
- Data Exchange & File Formats: Practical familiarity with EDI fundamentals and file-based data exchange across multiple file types (XML, fixed-length positional, CSV).
- Healthcare & Pharma Data Standards: Hands-on experience working with industry coding systems and data standards, including:
- ICD-10 (Diagnostic codes)
- CPT (Procedural codes)
- RxNorm (Clinical drug nomenclature)
- Delivery Methodologies: Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or proven experience in Agile delivery; Six Sigma certification or demonstrated process improvement expertise.
Capgemini offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package:
- Base Salary Range: $46,000 – $169,000 (Targeted based on geography, experience, certifications, and internal equity). Role may also be eligible for variable incentives/bonuses.
