The role will serve as the functional lead for data migration strategy within the Data Team, driving cross‑functional alignment across business, product, application, and data teams. The primary focus will be on defining migration scope, coordinating source‑to‑target mapping decisions, documenting business rules, assessing downstream impacts, and ensuring organizational readiness ahead of cutover.
This is a strategic coordination and documentation‑focused role, requiring strong business analysis, stakeholder management, data migration, and enterprise transformation experience. The position does not involve hands‑on migration execution or data pipeline development.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a standardized data migration framework, including decision inventories, documentation templates, and governance standards.
- Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, and application teams to define migration scope, including active, historical, retained, retired, and in‑flight records.
- Drive source‑to‑target mapping discussions and ensure migration decisions, transformation rules, assumptions, and business requirements are clearly documented.
- Plan and facilitate cross‑functional workshops to resolve migration questions, dependencies, and open decisions.
- Coordinate with downstream data, analytics, and reporting teams to assess migration impacts and ensure continuity of business reporting.
- Maintain a centralized, traceable repository of migration decisions, mappings, business rules, dependencies, and unresolved issues.
- Track application team milestones across build, testing, validation, reconciliation, and cutover readiness.
- Coordinate cutover sequencing, data reconciliation requirements, and go/no‑go readiness criteria across impacted teams.
- Maintain RAID logs, dependency matrices, action trackers, and executive‑level status reports.
- Communicate migration progress, risks, dependencies, and critical decisions to program leadership and senior stakeholders.
