Job summary

Great American Insurance Group is seeking a Business Analyst Intern for the summer of 2027 with a hybrid in-office and remote work arrangement. The role supports the Property & Casualty IT Services unit and focuses on requirements gathering, user story creation, testing, and design for ClaimCenter enhancements.

You will participate in project meetings, document business needs, and help translate requirements into actionable development items.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Business, English, Communications, or related.
• Graduation year 2029 or 2030.
• Detail oriented with strong writing skills.
• Familiar with AI and technology use in business contexts.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to convey information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Participate in discussions with business and technology partners to understand business needs.
• Document requirements, business rules, workflows, and application behavior.
• Help identify questions, gaps, and scenarios during solution design.

The ClaimCenter team is seeking a Business Analyst Intern for summer 2027.

Responsibilities:

Requirements Gathering & Documentation

• Participate in discussions with business and technology partners to understand business needs.
• Document requirements, business rules, workflows, and application behavior.
• Help identify questions, gaps, and scenarios that should be considered during solution design.

User Story Creation

• Assist with creating and refining user stories for ClaimCenter enhancements.
• Document acceptance criteria and expected system behavior.
• Help break business requirements into clear, testable requirements for development teams.

Application Testing

• Create and execute test scenarios based on business requirements and user stories.
• Test ClaimCenter functionality and document results.
• Identify unexpected application behavior and clearly document defects or questions for the project team.
• Participate in regression and user acceptance testing activities.

Application Design & Prototyping

• Help design and mock up proposed ClaimCenter screens and workflows.
• Work with Business Analysts and developers to consider usability and business process needs.
• Participate in design discussions and help document proposed solutions.

Project Collaboration

• Participate in project meetings, design sessions, demonstrations, and working sessions.
• Help maintain project documentation and track open questions or follow-up items.
• Gain exposure to the software development lifecycle and Agile delivery practices.

Requirements:

Ability to work in the office at minimum three days a week.

Education:

• Pursuing a degree in Business, English, Communications, or related
• 2029 or 2030 graduation year
