Job summary

Elyon International, based in Portland, OR, seeks a skilled Business Analyst to perform business analysis across technology and improvement projects. The role emphasizes stakeholder analysis, requirement development and management, and acceptance testing to deliver measurable business value.

You will mentor colleagues, collaborate with sponsors and project teams, and help refine the BA practice. A Bachelor's degree and 5–7 years’ experience in analytics are expected; certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or related field required.
• Progressive business analysis experience in employee benefits, financial services, technology delivery, or related fields.
• 5–7 years of experience in business analysis.
• Certifications such as CBAP/CCBA/PMP or QA/Testing desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist or lead identification and clarification of innovative business solutions aligned with divisional strategic goals.
• Use appropriate analysis tools and techniques to deliver cost effective solutions meeting business needs.
• Participate in developing the Business Analysis Practice and Business Analysis Framework to support definition and delivery of business value.
• Assess and document business value propositions and maintain a focus on value throughout execution.
• Foster partnerships with customers and business partners to ensure stakeholder needs are identified and represented.
• Establish and document business processes.
• Set up project work breakdown structures.
• Track project budgets and expenditures; monitor costs against budgets.

Summary: The main function of a Business Analyst is to perform business analysis on all aspects of technology and business improvement projects, focusing on stakeholder analysis, requirement development and management, and Acceptance testing. Assist and/or lead identification and clarification of innovative business solutions related to divisional strategic goals, in alignment with corporate strategy.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist and/or lead identification and clarification of innovative business solutions related to divisional strategic goals, in alignment with corporate strategy.
• Utilize appropriate analysis tools and techniques to deliver cost effective solutions which meet business needs and improve efficiencies.
• Participate in developing both the Business Analysis Practice and Business Analysis Framework to support definition and delivery of business value, including the writing and updating of Business Case documents.
• Assess and document business value propositions and maintain a focus on the value proposition throughout the execution of each business improvement project.
• Foster partnerships with customers and business partners in various areas of the company to both ensure their needs as stakeholders are identified and represented and encourage improved business analysis practices.
• Establish and document business processes.
• Set up project and work breakdown structures.
• Track project budgets and expenditures, monitor transaction controls and costs against budgets.

Often defines procedures or identifies innovative solutions for how to complete analytical tasks. Is a primary driver of collaboration on project teams. Influences decision-making and actively engages with project leaders, sponsors and key stakeholders to ensure optimum business value delivery.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
• Achievement of or progress toward: Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA) preferred; Project Management Professional (PMP), certification in Process or Performance Management, or certification in Quality Assurance/Testing desirable.
• Progressive experience in providing business analysis in employee benefits, financial services, technology delivery, or other related fields.
• 5-7 Years' Experience
