Job summary

Crane Worldwide Logistics LLC is seeking a Business Analyst to analyze EDI projects, gather requirements, and document detailed plans. You will propose implementation approaches for developers and assist with testing across upgrades to ensure smooth production.

The role emphasizes translating complex business and technical conversations into precise data mappings, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and maintaining project standards to meet delivery timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related analytical field or 5 years logistics experience.
• Minimum 5 years of Business Analysis experience.
• Logistics experience preferred; integration with the retail, government, high tech and/or energy vertical markets, a plus.
• SQL experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert analysis of EDI projects, including requirements gathering and customer documentation.
• Propose project plans for implementation by the development team.
• Perform QA testing on new application builds before production and coordinate with customers.
• Translate business and technical conversations into field-by-field data mappings for integrations.
• Develop meeting objectives and agendas while applying project standards.
• Prioritize tasks, prepare reports and diagrams to support supply planning.
• Review requirements to identify gaps, scope creep, and fulfillment opportunities.

Job description

• Works with Client Solutions Manager and developers to provide expert analysis of EDI projects, including requirements gathering with customers, documentation of detailed project plans, and providing testing support.
• Leverages extensive knowledge of EDI standards (ANSI X12, EDIFACT) and XML to propose project plans for implementation by the development team.
• Performs quality assurance test on all new application build upgrades before they are placed into production environment. Coordinates these efforts with customers.
• Takes input from Management and appropriately and accurately applies comments/feedback.
• Develops internal and external meeting objectives and agendas, while understanding the necessity of project standards and applies them consistently.
• Prioritizes multiple tasks effectively, prepares reports, flow diagrams and charts, while ensuring the process works at the optimum level, to the right rate and quality of output, in order to meet supply needs.
• Review and work requirements at all levels to perform gap, scope creep, fulfillment, and realization analysis.

Other Skills & Abilities

• Extensive knowledge of EDI standards (ANSI X12, EDIFACT). XML working knowledge recommended.
• Ability to translate business and technical conversations into field by field data mappings which developers will use to implement specific integrations.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Able to work well as part of a team, take ownership of projects, and work independently to solve problems and complete projects on time.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical ability.
• Ability to show good judgment at all times.
• Ability to execute assigned tasks against a project plan with target dates.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a related analytical field or 5-years logistics industry experience
• Minimum 5-years of Business Analysis experience
• Logistics experience preferred (freight forwarding, warehousing, customs brokerage). Integration experience with the retail, government, high tech and/or energy vertical markets, a plus.
• Programming Languages -- specifically SQL -- a plus

Physical Requirements

• Stand or sit for long periods of time
• Reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch and frequently required to climb or balance
• Regularly lift and/or move 50 pounds with hand truck/pallet jack and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds by hand
• Job may require extended sitting or standing, use of standard office equipment.
