Business Analyst - Data Analytics (Onsite)

Join Rackspace on a major, strategic data transformation initiative for a key client. This project aims to modernize the client's data landscape, enabling enhanced reporting, analytics, and data-driven decision-making across passenger and cargo operations. You will play a crucial role in understanding business processes, data sources, and requirements to shape the future-state data platform.

Work location: Onsite 3-4 days a week in New York.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Business Analyst (BA) to act as a liaison between our airline client and the Rackspace technical team. The BA will elicit, analyze, validate, and document business requirements related to data ingestion, processing, storage, reporting, and analytics. This role requires understanding business analysis principles, data concepts, and airline operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with client stakeholders across departments to understand processes, pain points, and data needs.
2. Conduct workshops, interviews, and analyze documents to gather detailed requirements for the data platform.
3. Analyze data from sources like AIMS, CargoSpot, TRAX, and others.
4. Translate needs into clear documentation (user stories, use cases, data mappings).

Data Focus:

1. Analyze source system data structures and relationships.
2. Define business rules for data transformation and quality.
3. Create data mapping specifications with data architects and engineers.
4. Define reporting requirements, KPIs, and dashboards.
5. Contribute to data governance policies from a business perspective.

Stakeholder Management & Communication:

1. Act as a bridge between business users and technical teams.
2. Communicate requirements and technical considerations clearly.
3. Facilitate collaboration sessions.

Documentation and Support:

1. Create and maintain requirements documentation.
2. Develop process flow diagrams.
3. Assist in creating test cases and support UAT.
4. Support project management activities.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
• 8-10 years of experience as a Business Analyst on data projects.
• Strong analytical, requirements elicitation, and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Understanding of data modeling principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in airline or aviation industry.
• Knowledge of systems like AIMS, CargoSpot, TRAX.
• Proficiency in SQL, Agile methodologies, and BI tools like Tableau.
• Business Analysis certification (e.g., CBAP).
