Job summary

Maximus in Augusta, ME is seeking a Business Analyst to translate program and policy needs into clear requirements and functional specifications for large child welfare modernization initiatives. You will work with client leadership, program staff, technical teams, vendors, and PMO resources to validate workflows and ensure alignment with federal and state requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3-5 years of relevant professional experience required.
• Experience documenting business needs and functional specifications.

• Analyze complex data to identify patterns and measure outcomes.
• Coordinate with technical staff to define requirements and processes.
• Document current and future business processes, use cases, and rules.
• Support traceability between objectives, requirements, and system designs.
• Facilitate requirements sessions and workshops with stakeholders.
• Prepare client-ready documentation and status updates.
• Promote alignment with CCWIS and data quality standards.
