Job summary

Sistema Technologies Inc. seeks an experienced Business Analyst for a 1-year government IT engagement in Austin, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst/Data Analyst in enterprise IT/government settings following formal SDLC processes.
• Experience analyzing and documenting business processes including current-state and future-state diagrams.
• Proficient in data analysis, profiling, validation, and documenting data elements and business rules.
• Hands-on experience writing and interpreting SQL for data analysis against relational databases.
• Proven ability to elicit, clarify, and validate requirements through workshops, interviews, and facilitated sessions.
• Experience translating business requirements into BRDs for technical teams.
• Experience defining KPIs and working with reporting teams to define data sourcing.
• Ability to perform gap analysis between current and desired future-state processes/data.
• Experience supporting UAT including test scenarios/cases based on documented requirements.

Sistema is looking for a Business Analyst with our government client based in Austin, TX for a 1 year position.

Hybrid Work Arrangement

This hybrid position requires some onsite work at our client’s site in Austin, TX.

Position will be 2 days (Tuesdays and Thursdays) remote and 3 days on-site.

Level Description

8 or more years of experience, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, independently performs a variety of complicated tasks, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Min 5 years of experience, served as a liaison between the Business community and Customer IT Teams (i.e., Architecture, Project Delivery, Application Sustain, etc.). Strong experience as a Data Analyst in analyzing raw data, and as a Business Analyst in requirements gathering, understanding technology, and any project management experience with PMP are a huge plus.

Job Description

Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs. Formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies. Experienced with business process reengineering and identifying new applications of technology to business problems to make business more effective. Familiar with industry standard business process mapping, and reengineering. Prepares solution options, risk identification, and financial analyses such as cost/benefit, ROI, buy/build, etc. Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs.

Additional job details and special considerations

Strong experience as a Business/Data Analyst performing requirements elicitation, business process analysis, data profiling, source-to-target mapping, data validation, and complex SQL analysis in large enterprise or government environments. Proven ability to document BRDs, functional requirements, business rules, KPIs, data dictionaries, and data lineage while collaborating with business stakeholders, data engineers, architects, and reporting teams throughout the SDLC. Experience supporting data governance, gap analysis, UAT, and enterprise reporting/analytics initiatives with strong communication and facilitation skills.

• 10 Required Strong written and verbal communication skills; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
• 8 Required Experience as a Business Analyst/Business Data Analyst gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements in an enterprise IT environment, including state government or large enterprise settings following formal SDLC processes
• 8 Required Experience analyzing and documenting business processes, including current-state (as-is) and future-state (to-be) process flows and data flow diagrams
• 8 Required Experience performing data analysis and documentation, including profiling, validation, and documentation of data elements, definitions, and business rules
• 8 Required Extensive hands-on experience writing and interpreting SQL (complex queries, joins, aggregations) to perform data analysis, validation, and ad hoc investigation directly against relational databases
• 8 Required Demonstrated experience extensively engaging with business stakeholders to elicit, clarify, and validate requirements through workshops, interviews, and facilitated sessions
• 8 Required Experience translating business requirements into functional/data requirements documents and business requirement documents (BRDs) for technical teams
• 8 Required Experience defining and documenting business measures, metrics, and KPIs, and working with reporting/analytics teams to define report specifications and data sourcing requirements
