The Business Analyst will ensure a true scrum process throughout the project by maintaining the scrum framework and facilitating the process for the organization, product owner, and scrum team. Additionally, the analyst will serve as a coach and facilitator to the development team in executing Agile practices.
U.S. citizenship is required for this role. The selected applicant must submit to a government background investigation and be favorably adjudicated before their first day.
This is a remote position, though the candidate may have to occasionally work onsite in Washington, DC, and ideally live within a commuting distance of DC.
Job Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT project management
- Three years of experience as a task leader managing a group of engineers and the full ADP life cycle in software engineering
- At least two years of experience in a Scrum Master role
- Technical knowledge of software development and conversational proficiency in technology
- Exceptional organizational management and communication skills
- Excellent time management and ability to juggle multiple tasks under strict deadlines
- Strong analytical and systems thinking skills, with the ability to apply technical solutions to broad, complex problems
- Ability to engage clients and discuss technology solutions with the understanding that clients are not technologists, and political savvy to frame and communicate issues
- Experience building relationships with project management, project team members, stakeholders, and users
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
Job Responsibilities
- Knowledge of and experience with the full development lifecycle process via different methodologies
- Experience on large‑scale IT projects of enterprise significance
- Knowledge of agile project management techniques, tools, methodologies, and approaches
- Ability to facilitate technical team efforts via requirements gathering, user stories, and other artifacts
- Experience in all business analyst support functions
- Support established applications programming and documentation
- Assist in the development, review, and enforcement of policies, practices, and standards, including programming and documentation standards
- Maintain liaison with stakeholders, management, subcontractors, and personnel; communicate, coordinate, and cooperate with staff members
- Analyze new and complex project‑related problems and help create innovative solutions
- Provide insight on application systems analysis and long‑ and short‑range plans for application selection, systems development, systems maintenance, and production activities, including necessary support resources
