Overview

Visual Connections, LLC is seeking Business Analyst for our team in McLean, VA. Candidates should have experience with the agile development lifecycle and be skilled at gathering, analyzing, documenting, and validating business needs. Strong analytical, communication, and writing skills are required; writing or portfolio samples may be requested.

Responsibilities
  • Manage business requirements for complex software systems for our federal customers.
  • Lead requirements discussions with business users and subject matter experts.
  • Define and write business requirements as user stories and maintain a prioritized product backlog for the business and software development team.
  • Create mockups and recommend innovative solutions to business problems.
  • Lead scrum ceremonies including daily stand up, sprint planning, grooming, review and retrospective meetings.
  • Research end user issues, perform impact analysis, and work with the team to resolve software problems according to established practices.
  • Validate development efforts against business requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Adapt to changing requirements and maintain requirements traceability matrix.
  • Document meetings, requirements, business process flows, end user guides, and presentation materials using established tools and templates.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree and three years of experience as a Business Analyst or related field.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust with the Federal government is mandatory.
  • Employer-based sponsorship is not available for this role. Legal permanent residents must have maintained residency status in the United States for a minimum of the past three years.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies such as Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Scrum, or Kanban.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of software development processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrable experience writing meeting agendas, meeting minutes, requirements, product backlog items, test cases, and other system development artifacts.
  • One or more of the following certifications: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Agilist (6.0), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), or other related professional certifications.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong customer service, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask within tight deadlines, self-directed, and results oriented.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps or similar tools.
