Job summary

System One is hiring a Business Analyst to support large-scale health/enterprise technology initiatives in Rockville, MD. The role blends business and IT collaboration to define requirements, create deliverables, and drive improvements across clinical operations, finance, HR, and enterprise systems.

You will translate business needs into clear requirements, lead workshops, and help manage backlogs while engaging stakeholders and ensuring quality throughout the SDLC in a hybrid work model

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, Public Health, or health informatics.
• 6+ years of business analysis experience supporting enterprise systems / modernization.
• Strong skills in process modeling, workflow analysis, and requirements management.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and/or SDLC.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with data/reporting tools such as SQL, Excel, Power BI, Tableau.
• Strong communication skills—able to work with technical teams and non-technical leaders.

Compensation: $100,000 Salary
Work Model: Hybrid — on‑site 2 days/week
Work Authorization: W2 only — no C2C

Overview

We’re hiring a Business Analyst to support large‑scale health/enterprise technology initiatives. You’ll partner with business and technical teams to understand current processes, identify gaps, define requirements, and help deliver solutions that improve operations across areas like clinical/research operations, finance, HR, supply chain, and enterprise systems.

This is a great fit for someone who enjoys translating business needs into clear requirements and driving improvements across complex, stakeholder‑heavy environments.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to assess current‑state processes, workflows, and operational needs
• Lead requirements gathering through workshops, interviews, and working sessions
• Create BA deliverables such as:
  • process maps / workflows
  • use cases, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • business models and documentation
• Identify pain points, risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement
• Recommend process and technology solutions aligned to business goals
• Support delivery across the SDLC / Agile lifecycle (requirements,build support,testing/UAT,release,post-go-live)
• Help manage and refine backlogs (prioritization, clarifications, dependency tracking)
• Support UAT coordination, validation, and issue resolution
• Contribute to change management, training, and knowledge/documentation repositories

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (IT, Business, Public Health, Health Informatics, or similar). Master’s preferred.
• 6+ years of business analysis experience supporting enterprise systems / modernization efforts
• Strong skills in process modeling, workflow analysis, and requirements management
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and/or SDLC
• Comfort working with tools like Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps (or similar)
• Familiarity with data/reporting tools such as SQL, Excel, Power BI, Tableau is a plus
• Strong communication skills—able to work with technical teams and non‑technical leaders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting federal health agencies, such as HHS, NIH, NCI, FDA, VA, or DoD programs.
• Familiarity with federal contracting environments, governance frameworks, and compliance requirements.
• Relevant certifications such as: CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional), PMP (Project Management Professional), ITIL Foundation, CPHIMS, Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher).
