Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. is seeking a skilled Business Analyst for a hybrid role based in Chicago, IL, with secondary work in Houston, TX.

The contract position supports a broad range of business and technology initiatives across operations, digital products, data analytics, enterprise systems, and customer experience. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of business analysis experience, strong requirements gathering, and comfort with Agile or Waterfall methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, CS, finance, supply chain, engineering, or related field.
• Experience gathering, documenting, and validating business requirements.
• Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or Waterfall environments.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to gather, analyze, and document requirements.
• Translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, process flows, and docs.
• Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement, automation, and optimization.
• Support testing activities including UAT planning, test case validation, defect tracking, and production support.
• Create BRDs, functional specs, user stories, and workflow diagrams.
• Facilitate communication between business users, development, QA, and project managers.
• Assist with data analysis and reporting to support decisions and objectives.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and gaps; recommend solutions.

Immediate need for a talented Business Analyst. This is a 06 - 12+months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Chicago, IL (Primary) & Houston, TX (Secondary) (Hybrid).

Pay Range: $60/hr - $70/hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Client is continuously seeking talented Business Analysts to support a wide range of business and technology initiatives across the organization.
• These opportunities may support operations, customer experience, digital products, enterprise applications, data and analytics, finance, supply chain, airport operations, and other strategic programs.
• We are building a pipeline of qualified Business Analysts at various experience levels for upcoming and ongoing projects.
• Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and requirement-gathering sessions.
• Translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, process flows, and business documentation.
• Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement, automation, and optimization.
• Support Agile and/or Waterfall project methodologies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Create and maintain business requirement documents (BRDs), functional specifications, user stories, process maps, and workflow diagrams.
• Facilitate communication between business users, development teams, QA teams, and project managers.
• Assist with testing activities including UAT planning, test case validation, defect tracking, and production support.
• Perform data analysis and reporting to support business decisions and project objectives.
• Identify project risks, dependencies, assumptions, and gaps while recommending solutions.
• Support change management, training, and implementation activities as needed.

• Knowledge of Agile tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps (ADO), Rally, or similar platforms.
• Experience with SQL, data analysis, reporting tools, Power BI, Tableau, or other BI platforms.
• Familiarity with system integrations, APIs, cloud technologies, or digital transformation initiatives.
• Experience supporting enterprise applications such as SAP, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Workday, Oracle, or similar platforms.
• Certification such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, CSM, CSPO, or Agile-related certifications is a plus.
