Job summary

Southern Careers Institute in Texas offers certification-based training across medical, business, cosmetology, skilled-trades and technology. The role supports faculty teaching customer service and communication, shaping lessons and assessments to help students succeed.

As a dedicated instructor, you plan lessons, adapt methods for diverse learners, and collaborate with campus educators to maintain an engaging, outcomes-driven classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required for faculty teaching business courses; if degree not in teaching field, two years related work experience or competency required.
• Strong knowledge of customer service and communication; ability to plan and deliver instruction.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; spreadsheet creation and data handling.
• Experience teaching or training in higher education or corporate setting is a plus.

• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of teaching field and discipline.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning.
• Modify instructional methods to meet diverse student needs.

Responsibilities

• Primary courses to be taught are Customer Service and Communication.
• Demonstrates and applies a thorough and accurate knowledge of the teaching field and discipline;
• Plans and organizes instruction in ways which maximize student learning. Practice excellence in teaching and instruction;
• Modifies instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse students’ needs;
• Prepare lesson plans and teach course as prescribed by the approved institutional curriculum;
• Encourages the development of communication skills and higher order thinking skills through appropriate assignments.

• A bachelor’s degree is required for faculty members teaching business and business administration courses. If the bachelor’s degree is not in the assigned teaching field, at least two years of related work experience or evidence of specialized training or competency in the assigned teaching field is required.
