Job summary

MPD INTEGRATION LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II – Busbar to design, optimize, and implement production processes for copper and aluminum busbars used in electrical distribution products. You will lead process improvements, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with design, quality, and operations to reduce costs and enhance quality.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and 3–6 years of manufacturing experience in fabrication, with strong lean and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–6 years of manufacturing engineering experience in fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting metal fabrication or industrial manufacturing operations.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and process optimization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple engineering projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and optimize busbar manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects focused on reducing waste, increasing throughput, and lowering manufacturing costs.
  • Analyze production data and identify opportunities to improve fabrication processes and equipment utilization.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions, manufacturing procedures, visual work aids, and standard operating procedures.
  • Design and implement fixtures, tooling, jigs, and manufacturing aids to improve repeatability and productivity.
  • Support fabrication processes including cutting, punching, drilling, bending, forming, deburring, finishing, and assembly of copper and aluminum busbars.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering to improve manufacturability and reduce production complexity.
  • Support new product introductions by developing manufacturing methods and validating production processes.
  • Perform root cause analysis on manufacturing and quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies and implement corrective actions.
  • Partner with Quality to investigate defects and implement preventive actions.
  • Evaluate manufacturing equipment and recommend process improvements or capital equipment investments.
  • Support equipment installation, validation, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Train production personnel on manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and standardized work.
  • Mentor Manufacturing Engineer I team members and provide technical guidance to production staff.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, quality standards, and ISO procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
