Job summary

City of Winchester, Virginia Local Government seeks a part-time bus driver to provide safe and reliable passenger transport. You will memorize routes, transfer points, and fare structures across fixed-route lines and Paratransit services, while delivering accurate schedule and fare information to riders.

Responsibilities include pre/post-trip inspections, safety adherence, and assisting riders with disabilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license.
• General knowledge of City traffic rules and regulations.
• Ability to work early mornings or evenings and some Saturdays.
• Willing to participate in random drug and alcohol screens per FTA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate non-CDL passenger vehicles.
• Memorize routes, transfer points, and fare structures of all fixed-route bus lines and Paratransit.
• Perform a complete pre-trip/post-trip inspection of bus.
• Understand and follow all safety rules.
• Provide schedule, route, and fare information to passengers seeking assistance.
• Operate wheelchair lift and assist individuals with disabilities in boarding, riding, and alighting in a safe manner.
