Job summary

The City of Winchester seeks a bus driver for fixed-route and Paratransit services. You will operate non-CDL passenger vehicles and perform daily inspections, ensuring safety and reliability across routes.

You will memorize routes and fare structures, provide information to passengers, and assist riders with disabilities, including operating wheelchair lifts. A valid license and GED are required, with availability for mornings, evenings, and some Saturdays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of City traffic rules and regulations.
• Must be able to work early mornings or evenings and some Saturdays.
• Willing to participate in random drug and alcohol screens per FTA Drug and Alcohol regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate non-CDL passenger vehicles.
• Memorize routes, transfer points, and fare structures of all fixed-route bus lines and Paratransit.
• Perform a complete pre-trip/post-trip inspection of bus.
• Understand and follow all safety rules.
• Provide schedule, route, and fare information to passengers seeking assistance.
• Operate wheelchair lift and assist individuals with disabilities in boarding, riding, and alighting in a safe manner.
