Job summary

Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) in Lewisville, TX is hiring an Operations Supervisor to manage the agency's transit system from base operations to on-street service and to oversee bus operators.

The role requires flexibility across all shifts, a 21+ age, an Associates' degree, three years supervisory experience in public transit, a Class B CDL with Passenger endorsement, and a proven safety record; you'll coordinate schedules, dispatch, training, and incident response.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Associates' Degree and three years of supervisory/management experience (one of which should be in a public transit/transportation environment).
• A minimum of one year as a coach operator or operations supervisor in a public transit/transportation environment is required.
• Must possess a safe driving record and valid, unrestricted license.

Responsibilities

• Manages coach operators and supervises staff; ensures adherence to schedules and DOT rules.
• Coordinates bid processing and seniority work assignments.
• Oversees safe operation, incident response, and detours; maintains dispatch logs.
• Ensures 24/7 communication with Operations Manager for status and issues.
• Provides leadership to maintain safety, training, and performance standards.
