Job description

We are currently on the lookout for an experienced Bus Monitor to join our elite team in Fulton County, GA. As a key member, you will be entrusted with ensuring safe and comfortable transportation for our passengers, while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.

Salary: Starting pay $14.54 with progression to $18.92 over 3 years.

Key Responsibilities
  • Knows the route and remains alert to monitor the welfare of passengers while in route. Keeps order on the bus.
  • Communicates behavior problems and conditions of various stops with the driver. Cooperates and communicates with school personnel, parents and students.
  • Assists in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus utilizing Zonar technology, including child checks.
  • Assists students in the loading and unloading process.
  • Cooperates and communicates with school personnel, students, and parents.
  • Attends all safety and training meetings.
  • Conducts emergency evacuation from the bus, including use of exiting by emergency door.
  • Opens and closes service doors and moves up and down steps multiple times daily.
  • Other duties as required.

Physical Requirements
  • Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions – 100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
  • Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
