Job summary

Student Transportation of America, Inc (STA) in Harborcreek, PA seeks a full-time Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance and repairs across the fleet. You will diagnose, service, and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and more, following CMMS work orders and safety protocols.

ASE certifications encouraged; CDL and State Inspection licensing are a plus. The role offers a sign-on bonus and boot allowance, plus a comprehensive benefits package and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of maintenance experience in school transportation or related field.
• Air Brake and diagnostic experience.
• Willingness to obtain a CDL and State Inspection license.
• ASE certification is a plus.
• Valid CDL license is a plus.
• Tools to perform maintenance work is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections on all types of vehicles and repair systems/parts when needed.
• Uses preventative maintenance check list to verify repairs.
• Repairs and inspections involve engine, battery, lights, gauges and controls, safety equipment, transmissions, tires, brakes, undercarriage, power steering, fluids and filters.
• Completely document all work performed in CMMS Software.
• Utilize CMMS to assist with diagnosing vehicle trends.
• Diagnoses and repairs buses focusing on minor to moderate problems including engine, electrical, tires, brakes, undercarriage, and more.
• Utilize repair manuals and parts manuals for aid in making minor repairs.
• Inspects and verifies problems on buses using diagnostic equipment.
• Perform in-house and road call bus repairs using various tools.
• Cleans, repairs, and replaces bus equipment as required.
• Tests buses for proper working order.
• Assist Class A and C technicians with repair work as required.
• Repairing buses requires physical dexterity and heavy lifting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
