Job summary

GoTriangle is seeking a Mechanic II to perform mechanical diagnosis and repair on the full range of vehicles in the fleet. Reports to a Maintenance Supervisor and handles complex diagnostic, fabrication, repair, and overhauling tasks with a broad skill set.

The role requires an Associate's Degree, 3 years of journey mechanic experience, and a Class B CDL with passenger endorsement. DOT physicals, A/C Section 609, and Safety/Emission Certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Three years total related experience with experience as a journey mechanic on a variety of gasoline and diesel equipment.
• Must have or be able to obtain a class B Commercial Driver's License with a passenger endorsement.
• Must meet DOT physical requirements and maintain a valid DOT card.
• Certifications in servicing motor vehicle A/C (Section 609) and Safety/Emission Inspections per NC regulations.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses mechanical bus and van problems in mechanical, pneumatic, HVAC, and hydraulic systems.
• Repairs problems on vehicles including air brakes, engines, transmissions, and electronic controls.
• Fabricates parts from metal and welds as needed.
• Recommends rebuilding or ordering parts based on cost and history.
• Handles complex malfunctions in automatic transmissions and computerized systems.
• Maintains vehicle service records and stays updated with safety regulations.
