Job summary

Darling Ingredients is seeking a Mechanic 2 for the night shift to diagnose, repair, and maintain trailers, diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles, and process equipment. This role builds on Mechanic 1 duties and emphasizes safety and accuracy in repairs.

Responsibilities include interpreting manuals, diagnosing engine and electrical issues, using diagnostics software, keeping logs, and mentoring junior staff. The position requires tool ownership and a valid license, with travel only as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 3+ years in vehicle maintenance or related technical field.
• Must have own basic tool set to perform maintenance.
• Valid Driver's license and brake certification.

Responsibilities

• Interprets repair manuals to repair equipment.
• Diagnose and repair diesel and gas engines.
• Use diagnostics software to identify issues.
• Maintain service records and work orders in fleet systems.
• Assist Mechanic 1 as needed.
• Maintain clean and organized shop and work areas.
