Job summary

Job Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Perform mechanical repairs to ensure proper performance and safety of district vehicles. Work on projects assigned following established procedures, substitute bus driving, and other general duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

High School Diploma or GED

Valid Texas commercial driver’s license (Class B) with P&S endorsement

Bus Driver training (may be completed after employment)

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs with general supervision

Ability to operate equipment and tools involved in vehicle repair

Ability to move & position/reposition heavy equipment and vehicle parts

Ability to pass alcohol and drug test

Ability to pass required bus driver safety training

Acceptable driving record

Ability to operate bus

Experience:

Five years experience as mechanic

Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $19.43 to $28.26 Per Hour
