Job summary

The Metropolitan Council is seeking a Technical Trainer to develop and deliver high‑quality maintenance training for bus personnel across all shifts. You will create curriculum, prepare labs, and evaluate learning outcomes to improve safety and reliability of the fleet.

You will work with a union workforce, manage training records in the LMS, and collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure courses meet operational needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED with six (6) years of experience.
  • Associate degree with four (4) years of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher with two (2) years of experience.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical training to maintenance personnel for all three shifts.
  • Design and develop course outlines, syllabi, performance objectives, student guides, slides, lab exercises, performance support tools and evaluation documents.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and incorporate feedback.
  • Update training records using the Learning Management System (LMS).
