Job summary

Metropolitan Council's Metro Transit division seeks a Service Garage Supervisor for the Bus Maintenance department in Minnesota. This role oversees preventive and corrective maintenance on a designated shift, training staff in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and related systems, and coordinating work across departments to ensure fleet readiness.

Qualifications

• Must have 8+ years in engine/heavy truck maintenance with at least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Two-year vocational program in diesel mechanics with 6+ years of experience, including supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate mechanical work for an assigned shift, including cleaning and routine maintenance.
• Plan preventive and corrective maintenance for the following day and track vehicle history.
• Assign and inspect the work of mechanical personnel.
• Identify priority situations and make timely safety decisions.
• Provide work direction to technicians and helpers.
• Create work orders and perform data entry.
• Enforce EEO and harassment-free workplace policies.
