The Metropolitan Council is seeking a Technical Trainer to develop and deliver high-quality training for Bus Maintenance personnel, covering mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and air-conditioning systems. This role emphasizes curriculum design and program evaluation to improve safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Primary hours are first shift, with possible second/third shift training to meet needs. Three education paths with relevant experience are accepted, plus a valid driver’s license.

Metro Transit is one of the country's largest transit systems that employs more than 3,000 people, and prior to COVID-19, provided more than 80 million rides a year through an integrated network of buses, light rail and commuter trains, as well as resources for those who carpool, vanpool, walk or bike in the Twin Cities.
The Technical Trainer is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating high-quality technical training programs for Bus Maintenance personnel. The position provides instruction for all facets of the bus maintenance and repair processes including, but not limited to: Mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, air-conditioning, drivetrain, electrical and electronic systems maintenance activities associated with transit bus and non-revenue vehicles to ensure safety, improve reliability, and maintain cost effectiveness of the fleet.
NOTE: The primary work hours will be first shift with the expectation that Technical Trainers will provide training during second and third shifts to meet training needs.
