Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing; strong interpersonal skills; ability to take directions.
• Knowledge of computerized diagnostic equipment.
• Performs preventive maintenance on gasoline, diesel, and propane school division vehicles.
• Executes repairs on school division vehicles including engines, valves, pistons, bearings, cooling, fuel and exhaust systems.
• Inspects and overhauls brakes, transmissions, electrical systems, HVAC and related components.
• Responds to emergency road calls and coordinates towing as needed.
• Trains and supervises automotive staff as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair engines, transmissions, driveline and brakes on buses and county vehicles.
• Perform preventative maintenance on gasoline, diesel, and propane vehicles.
• Diagnose problems using charts, manuals and diagnostic equipment.
• Inspect, adjust and repair braking, electrical, HVAC and powertrain systems.
• Respond to emergency road calls and arrange towing when necessary.
• Train and supervise automotive staff when needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
