Job summary

Gregory Poole Equipment Company in Charleston, SC, is seeking a seasoned bus maintenance technician to support school and activity buses. Based out of Mebane Bus Division but located in Charleston, you will perform preventive maintenance, inspections, recalls, and field repairs to ensure safe operation.

You will troubleshoot engines, hydraulics, electrical systems using manuals, lift equipment, and test results.

Qualifications

• Six years of mechanical experience on school/activity buses.
• Fundamental understanding of engines, hydraulics, electrical systems.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to read repair/parts manuals.

Responsibilities

• Review the work schedule and prepare required equipment and PPE.
• Troubleshoot engines, fuel systems and transmissions using manuals.
• Use lift trucks, cranes and other aids to move parts for repair.
• Disassemble/reassemble parts or equipment and test functionality.
• Reference parts and enter data into record systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine servicing on buses.
