The ideal candidate has six years of mechanical experience, proficiency with engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems, and can work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school education or GED.
• Six years of mechanical experience, including hands-on work on school and activity buses.
• Ability to disassemble/assemble engines, transmissions, fuel systems and other bus components.
• Must be able to lift up to 117 pounds and use a mechanical hoist for heavier parts.
• Able to operate an assigned service vehicle with valid license.

Responsibilities

• Review the work schedule and prepare parts, PPE, and supplies for duties.
• Troubleshoot engines, fuel systems, and transmissions using repair manuals and parts diagrams.
• Use lifts, hoists, and tools to remove, repair, and re-install components.
• Test and recalibrate equipment; document repairs in the customer work orders.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections on buses.
