Job summary

Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) seeks a Bus Driver to safely transport military passengers at Fort Sill, OK. The role involves driving a 44-seat bus on scheduled routes, maintaining passenger comfort, and complying with DOT and installation rules.

Responsibilities include daily inspections, loading/unloading, coordinating with dispatch, reporting issues, and keeping logs. Must have CDL A or B, clean driving record, DOT physical, and valid ID; retention bonus after 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• CDL A or CDL B license required.
• Clean driving record for past seven years.
• Must pass a DOT physical.
• Valid medical card or insurance equivalent.
• Pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
• Able to receive a favorable Tier-1 investigation and CAC.
• REAL ID-compliant driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily vehicle inspections, maintain required documentation, and follow all DOT, OSHA, and installation safety rules.
• Load and unload personnel safely using proper equipment and techniques.
• Coordinate with supervisors and dispatchers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
• Report maintenance issues promptly and assist with general support tasks as assigned.
• Comply with installation access and security requirements.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

AFO is looking for a Bus Driver to work in Fort Sill, OK.

Safely and compliantly drives 44 seat passenger bus to transport military passengers over specified routes to local points on Fort Sill Army installation, according to time schedule. Regulates heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort. Complies with local traffic regulations, and reports delays or accidents to transportation motor pool (TMP).

• Valid and current medical card or insurance equivalent.
• Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
• Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 investigation result, obtain and maintain a CAC.
• Applicant must possess a REAL ID-compliant, state-issued driver’s license.

Desired Qualification

• Completed prerequisite training for Army Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 88M – Motor Transport Operator desired.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 60 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, reaching, and operating in tiring positions.
• Periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions.
• Personal protective equipment (e.g., eye protection, gloves) may be required.

Pay Rate & Retention Bonus

• SCA $23/hour and $250 Retention bonus after successfully completing 90 days employment.
