Job summary

Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) is hiring a part-time bus driver to transport military personnel safely on Fort Sill. The role requires a CDL A/B, clean driving record, and DoT medical clearance. You will perform inspections, maintain logs, and coordinate with dispatchers to ensure timely arrivals.

AFO emphasizes safety, security, and responsible service on base, with benefits and growth opportunities. Hours are up to 30 per week, shifts vary.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Must have current and valid CDL A or CDL B license.
  • Clean driving record for past seven (7) years.
  • Ability to pass a DoT physical.
  • Valid and current medical card or insurance equivalent.
  • Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
  • Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 investigation result, obtain and maintain a CAC.
  • Applicant must possess a REAL ID-compliant, state-issued driver’s license.

  • Load and unload personnel safely using proper equipment and techniques.
  • Coordinate with supervisors and dispatchers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

  • Comply with installation access and security requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records, and logs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Bus Driver position safely and compliantly drives 44 seat passenger bus to transport military passengers over specified routes to local points on Fort Sill Army installation, according to time schedule. Regulates heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort. Complies with local traffic regulations, and reports delays or accidents to transportation motor pool (TMP).

Desired Qualification
  • Completed prerequisite training for Army Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 88M – Motor Transport Operator desired.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 60 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, reaching, and operating in tiring positions.
  • Periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions.
  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., eye protection, gloves) may be required.
Pay & Benefits
  • SCA $23/hour + $5.09/hour Health and Welfare Benefits and $250 Retention bonus after successfully completing 90 days employment.

Hours per Week – Part Time, up to 30 hours a week

Shifts: Variable

Preference will be given to incumbents who are in good standing.
