Job Purpose:A Bus Driver at Summit Christian Academy is responsible for safely transporting students and staff to various events, ensuring a reliable and punctual service that supports the educational and extracurricular activities of SCA.Key Responsibilities:Operate school buses for transporting students and staff to and from various events, including field trips, sporting events, and other school-related activities.Ensure the safety and security of all passengers by adhering to traffic laws and school policies.Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment, addressing any issues that may arise during the journey.Communicate effectively with school staff, students, and parents regarding transportation schedules and any changes or delays.Assist passengers as needed, ensuring a safe boarding and exiting process.Report any incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues promptly to appropriate school administration.Attend training sessions and meetings as required to stay informed about safety protocols and school policies.Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and fuel usage for school reporting purposes.Required Education:Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)Required Experience:Minimum of 2 years of experience as a professional bus driverProven track record of safely transporting passengers to various eventsExperience in driving buses for educational institutions or similar organizations is preferredRequired Skills and Abilities:Strong knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving techniquesExcellent communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and staffAbility to manage time effectively and adhere to schedulesProficiency in performing routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checksCapability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficientlyFamiliarity with local routes and event locationsStrong organizational skills and attention to detail
