A standard high school diploma and a valid Florida CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements

Qualifications

• Valid Florida CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
• Clean driving record with no major moving violations or convictions within the last 3–5 years.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred (or willing to obtain upon hire).
• Strong communication skills, patience with children, and punctual availability on short notice.
• Standard High School Diploma.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

Calvary Christian Academy seeks a safety-conscious, reliable School Bus Driver to provide safe and efficient transportation for students. This position operates on an as-needed basis to cover regular routes, field trips, athletic events, and extracurricular activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Student Transportation: Transport students safely to and from school, athletic competitions, field trips, and campus activities according to designated schedules and routes.
• Vehicle Inspection & Safety: Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (brakes, lights, tires, emergency exits) to verify operating condition. Report mechanical issues or maintenance needs immediately.
• Student Supervision: Enforce bus safety rules, maintain student discipline, and report serious behavioral infractions to school administration.
• Emergency & Compliance: Follow emergency evacuation procedures, observe all traffic laws, and adhere to Florida Department of Education (FL DOE) and Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) standards.
• Vehicle Care: Maintain a clean, sanitized, and safe bus interior following every shift.

Qualifications

• Licensure: Valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Class A or B with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
