Job summary

RATP Dev USA – Go-Durham is seeking a Bus Operator to transport passengers safely on assigned routes and to comply with all safety and regulatory requirements. The role involves assisting riders, including those with disabilities, and maintaining high service standards.

Requirements include 21+ years old, a DOT Physical, a high school diploma or equivalent, and either NC CDL permit with endorsements or a full CDL A/B with endorsements.

Qualifications

• Must pass a DOT Physical exam.

• Either hold a NC CDL Permit with passenger and air brake endorsements or a full CDL A/B with the same endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Transport passengers safely and courteously on designated routes.
• Comply with federal, state, and local laws governing bus operation.
• Ensure the highest quality of service for customers.
• Assist passengers, including those with disabilities, and help with safety restraints.
• Promote safety awareness and follow procedures to reduce accidents.
• Operate all equipment safely and perform pre-trip inspections.
• Coordinate detour and incident information with dispatch and respond appropriately.
• Report accidents or unusual incidents to the company.

Responsibilities Include

• Transports Passengers safely and courteously according to specified routes. To ensure optimization of all routes, the Bus Operator may make only designated stops in the order prescribed, unless otherwise communicated by the Dispatch Office.
• Comply with all federal, state, and local laws about the operation of buses, traffic, and safety.
• Ensures the highest quality of service is delivered to our customers.
• Assists customers in a safe, friendly, courteous, and helpful manner. This includes helping customers with disabilities, on and off the wheelchair lift. As requested by the customer, the Bus Operator will assist with safety restraints.
• Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents.
• Comply with all company safety rules and operates assigned vehicles to meet customer standards.
• Must be able to operate all equipment safely, efficiently, and adequately, including lift, radio, emergency equipment, hatches, and rear engine compartment door.
• Performs pre-trip inspection and completes bus and equipment are in safe, proper working condition.
• Coordinates detour, accident, and incident information to radio dispatch, and responds to given.
• Makes effective independent decisions and manages conflicts based on safety, experience, training, and policies.
• Reports and properly follows up on all accidents or unusual incidents in, on, or near RATP Dev/GoDurham vehicles

Requirements of the Bus Operator:

• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Requires the candidate to pass a DOT Physical exam
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Either have a valid North Carolina CDL Permit with passenger and air brake endorsements or a full CDL A or B with the same endorsements.

Shift Availability

• Full-time
• Part-time (minimum 32 hours per week)

Pay Rate : $21.00
